Gun Control Regulations

Summary:
In the article "End the Gun Epidemic in America", published by The New York Times, the author proclaims how Americas elected leaders are taking no further step to regulate gun control. It has now became easier to buy a gun with no restrictions. The author announces to the audience to take the step to regulate, giving up their weapons is the first step to help create a safer environment.

Analysis: Since our "leaders" are profiting from the purchase of weapons, no further restrictions made to stop a purchase that puts thousands at risk. The author recalls that we hear news about mass shootings frequently. Sure our government pays their respects of the victims who suffered, but does not do further more. Gun control can easily reduce the mass shootings. To connect his proclaim, the author connects to our world now. We have elections coming in, but there seems to be no one that mentions the act of gun regulation. It won't matter who gets elected because the fear of getting killed by someone who has a weapon is still there. There are other counties like France, England, and Norway that are trying to address the act to start gun control, but the US remains doing nothing. The author then blames republicans for advocating gun markets and claims that instead of talking about the spread of firearms, we should talk about the spread of gun markets because the firearms come from gun markets. To end the article, the author then suggests another idea on. The author reaches a message to those who do own a fire arm/weapon, should be considerate and eliminate them.

  2. Your summary is overall well-rounded and straight to the point, however you have to be a little more careful with not suggesting your own ideas by the way you word things. Your analysis is a bit broad in terms of the author's ideas, next time it would be better to state specifically what the author is arguing and then elaborating in terms of why. Overall your own reasoning is clear and your support in terms of the article is presented effectively.
